Carjacking Ends With Brand-New BMW Slamming Into a Tree

Police were following the suspects, but not in an active pursuit, when the suspects slammed into a tree.

A carjacking early Friday morning ended with the suspects slamming the brand-new car they just stole into a tree in Pasadena.

Two men with guns approached a man parking a brand-new BMW with paper plates, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

They carjacked the BMW on the 4500 block of Willowbrook and though the men were armed, the victim was not harmed, police said.

The men took off, and just before 3 a.m., police spotted the car at the intersection of Allen Avenue and Paloma Street.

The officers were not in an active pursuit with the BMW, however the suspects slammed into a tree.

The suspects became trapped inside of the vehicle, and had to wait until the Pasadena Fire Department arrived to extract them.

The conditions of the suspects were unknown, and they were transported to hospitals.

Police said after the suspects are treated, they will be booked for carjacking.
