Carport Fire Extends to Apartment Complex in Tustin

Flames that engulfed a car spread to another vehicle and extended into an apartment complex Tuesday in Tustin, according to the Orange County Fire Authority.

Officials received a call shortly after 2:30 a.m. about a fire on the 5700 block of Williams Street, Captain Larry Kurtz of the OCFA said.

The vehicle that was engulfed in flames was in an apartment complex carport and was destroyed, as was the other vehicle. The apartment building sustained exterior damage and the complex managers plan to find hotel rooms for residents affected by the fire.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and authorities suspect it could have been an electrical fire or a suspicious blaze.
