A woman in a sport utility vehicle suffered a non-life threatening wound in a shooting early Wednesday in Cerritos.
Deputies responded to an assault call at about 1:30 a.m. near Shoemaker Avenue and the 91 Freeway. They found the victim with a gunshot wound to the left shoulder, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Cerritos Station.
The woman was in a vehicle when she was shot. At least one window was shattered.
It was not immediately clear whether she was on the freeway or a street at the time of the shooting.
