Search for Man Accused of Slaying Ex-Girlfriend in Gardena Church Parking Lot

The sheriff's department Thursday afternoon identified a 55-year-old Lynwood man suspected of stabbing his ex-girlfriend to death in a church parking lot in Gardena and asked the public for help in locating him, while warning that he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Kevin Darnell Dickson is suspected of killing 50-year-old Patricia Harrison, who was also a resident of Lynwood, about 7:25 p.m. Wednesday in the 14500 block of South San Pedro Street, according to Deputy Trina Schrader of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Information Bureau.

Deputies from the Compton Station were sent to the location to investigate a report of an assault with a deadly weapon and found Harrison down in the parking lot, suffering from multiple stab wounds, Schrader said. She was pronounced dead at a hospital.

The weapon used to kill Harrison has not been recovered.

Dickson is believed to be suicidal and should not be approached, according to the sheriff's department, which says he may be driving either a silver 2003 Jaguar sedan with the California license plate 5XZP532 or a dark blue 2010 Mercedes-Benz two-door vehicle with the California license plate 7WZP946.

Investigators released a photo of the suspect and asked anyone who has information regarding his whereabouts to call the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500 or dial 911.

Anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers by calling (800) 222-TIPS.
