Hit-and-Run Crash Injures Four at Supermarket

Police say the driver backed his truck out of the store and left the scene

A hit-and-run driver left produce, shattered glass and other items scattered on the floor after slamming into the front of a market in Lomita, injuring four people, authorities said.

The crash occurred at about 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Buy Low Market at 2130 Pacific Coast Highway, said Sgt. Paul Cervantes of the sheriff's Lomita station.Four people were hurt and taken to a hospital for treatment, Cervantes said. Their conditions were not immediately available.

The driver backed his truck out from the front of the store and fled down Narbonne Avenue, Cervantes said. His truck was described as a Lincoln with a white camper shell.

The driver was wanted for alleged felony hit-and-run, Cervantes said. Anyone with information on his whereabouts was asked to call the Lomita sheriff's station at 310-539-1661 or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
