A man was shot and killed by a police officer Monday morning in Azusa, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's said.
The shooting was reported just before 11:30 p.m. in the 200 block of Windsong Court, according to a department news release. The man's wife also called police and said he had a gun, according to authorities.
Officers were speaking with the woman at the home when her husband, armed with the gun, appeared outside the residence, said Lt. Joe Mendoza, of the LA County Sheriff's Department. He pointed the handgun at officers, one of whom shot the man in the upper body, Mendoza said.
The subject, identified only as a 49-year-old man, died at the scene.
