Suspected Gunman Shot Several Times in IE Officer-Involved Shooting

Earlier Saturday, a driver rammed a San Bernardino County Sheriff's Dept. cruiser

An officer-involved shooting in San Bernardino occurred Saturday, on a day when authorities were confronted with deadly weapons in two separate cases.

Both cases began in the city of San Bernardino, and no officers were hurt in the confrontations.

A man carrying a semi-automatic weapon was shot several times in an officer-involved shooting in the 2400 block of W. Foothill Boulevard on Saturday at about 6:20 p.m., according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

The man, identified as Arthur Felder, was shot in the shoulder, buttocks and foot, police said. He was given first aid and taken to a hospital, officials said. He was treated and released a couple of hours later.

Felder was arrested and booked on charges including assault with a deadly weapon and two drugs charges. Police found a stolen, fully-loaded Desert Eagle .40-caliber handgun at the scene.

Early Saturday morning, an intoxicated driver crashed head-on with a sheriff's vehicle at the end of a two-city pursuit in the early morning, officials said -- another alleged assault with a deadly weapon.

At about 2:50 a.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies pursued a vehicle that failed to yield to an officer near Pumalo Street and Del Rosa Drive, in the city of San Bernardino, according to a sheriff's statement. The driver fled onto the 210 Freeway toward the city of Highland.

Deputies pursued the vehicle until it drove into a dead-end on Clover Hill Drive, deputies said, but the driver, identified as Andrew Redmond, 21, passed two patrol vehicles and collided with a third.

Redmond and his passenger, Danielle Peake, were arrested, deputies said. Redmond had an outstanding warrant and was booked on charges of assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, felony evading, bringing drugs into a jail and his outstanding warrant.
