A Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputy was hospitalized in stable condition Saturday after being injured in a hit-and-run accident while patrolling a portion of Universal City Walk in Universal City.
The deputy was on a bike just after midnight when she was struck, according to Lt. Dan Nagelmann with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's West Hollywood Station.
The deputy was taken to a hospital and she is listed in stable condition, said sheriff's Sgt. N. Rios.
The California Highway Patrol has taken over the investigation into the crash. No description of the suspect or the vehicle was available, Rios said.
