Deputies shot and killed a woman who was allegedly pointing a gun at a man at a gas station in Compton Wednesday.
Deputies said they shot her after she refused orders to drop the weapon at 4:25 p.m. at the gas station at 101 West Compton Boulevard. Authorities said they fired fearing she would kill the man.
Authorities later determined that the woman had fired a round at the man, with whom she had children. Her handgun was recovered at the scene.
The woman, who was not immediately identified, died at a hospital.
