Driver Arrested on Suspicion of DUI in Deadly Huntington Beach Crash

A man was struck by an SUV and killed Thursday in Huntington Beach, and the motorist involved in the crash was arrested on suspicion of driving while impaired, police said.

The crash was reported at 4:04 a.m. on Beach Boulevard north of Edinger Avenue, said Huntington Beach police Officer Jennifer Marlatt.

The injured man died at a hospital, Marlatt said. He had not been identified Thursday morning.

Anastasia Hull, 34, of Lakewood was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, Marlatt said.

According to the preliminary investigation, Hull was driving a BMW SUV north on Beach Boulevard when the vehicle hit the man, Marlatt said. Hull remained at the scene, and was taken into custody.

A section of Beach Boulevard was closed in the area, as was the northbound Beach Boulevard offramp from the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway, during the investigation.
