Magnitude-4.8 Earthquake Shakes Death Valley

A magnitude-4.8 earthquake in Death Valley Wednesday rattled parts of the northern Mojave Desert.

The quake, reported at 11 a.m., produced shaking in Trona, Ridgecrest, Lone Pine and other areas northeast of Los Angeles near the Nevada border.
