A 74 year-old man died Monday in a fire in a unit of a seniors high-rise building in Koreatown, authorities said.
The fire was reported at 10:48 p.m. in a third floor apartment at 616 South Normandie Ave., Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said.
Firefighters quickly doused the flames, but the man died at the scene, Stewart said.
The blaze broke out on the third floor of the multi-level structure and did not spread. Fire crews evacuated some residents before they were able to put out the flames.
