Emergency Exercise Set For Hollywood Hills Neighborhoods

The Los Angeles Fire Department and other public safety agencies will conduct a public training exercise in the Hollywood Hills Saturday that will simulate a coordinated evacuation of three specific neighborhoods -- similar to what might happen if there was a real wildfire or other emergency in the future, officials said.

A text message will be sent to all wireless phones in the immediate area at approximately 10 a.m., though officials said some people beyond the target area may receive an awareness message.

The exercise only involves select streets in the following Neighborhood Council Districts:

  • Los Feliz Neighborhood Council;
  • Hollywood United Neighborhood Council;
  • Hollywood Hills West Neighborhood Council.

The training event will be followed by a free community resource fair at the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood, 1760 North Gower St., at 11:30 a.m.
