Six Teens Arrested in Pursuit Crash That Injured Woman, 5-Year-Old Daughter

Authorities were pursuing a stolen vehicle before the crash

Three family members, including a 5-year-old girl, were hospitalized and six teenagers were arrested following a pursuit that ended with a wreck Tuesday in South Los Angeles.

A family of three, including a 5-year-old child, traveling near Slauson and Gate avenues was struck by the driver of a stolen vehicle being pursued by authorities, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. LAPD South Traffic division responded to the end of the pursuit at approximately 11:40 p.m., according to Sgt. Norma Vargas.

The woman and her child were in critical condition. A man in the car was in serious condition, but later upgraded to stable condition.

All six people involved in the pursuit vehicle range in age from 13 to 17, according to LAPD detective Megan Aguilar. They were treated for injuries.

Authorities are investigating whether the stolen vehicle is tied to an assault with a deadly weapon case. The Nissan Altima was reported stolen out of Ingelwood.
