4 Killed, Including 2 Children, Their Grandmother, 2 Injured, in Crash

Four people were killed, including two children and their grandmother, and two others were hurt Friday when a truck driver suspected of being drunk crashed into their disabled car on the shoulder of the 10 Freeway in Fontana, fire officials said.

The crash was reported about 12:30 p.m. in the eastbound lanes east of the Cherry Avenue exit, according to the San Bernardino County Fire Department.

A pickup truck driver crashed into a Honda Civic, with a family of four inside, that had overheated.

A driver who stopped to try to help the family was hit by the truck and killed.

The mother of the children was hospitalized. The pickup truck driver also suffered injuries.

Authorities believe the driver of a pickup truck may have been driving drunk.

The family has a gofundme page to help raise money for their funerals.
