A man with a gun was shot and killed when police opened fire Sunday night inside a supermarket in Ontario.
Calls were made reporting that there was a man armed with a gun in the 1900 block of E. 4th St, Ontario Police Department Detective Melissa Ramirez said. Security camera images from the store show the man with what appears to be a rifle as he walks down an aisle.
The store was open at the time, but customers and employees were safely evacuated when officers arrived.
After officers attempted to speak with the man, he was struck by gunfire and died at the scene, Ramirez confirmed. No officers were injured.
Details about the man's identity were not immediately available.
