Redlands Fire Chars Cliffside Near Homes

Fire crews worked to contain a brush fire that left a cliffside charred after it burned just feet from homes in San Bernardino County Monday morning.

The 6-acre fire burned near Edgemont Drive in a mountainous area of Redlands.

Officials from the United States Forest Department assisted firefighters from Cal Fire San Bernardino to battle the blaze.

Captain Frank Wilson, from Cal Fire San Bernardino, said they were making "good progress" on working to contain the fire.

The cause fire was believed to have started from a spark from a piece of equipment performing weed abatement at the ravine, fire officials said.
