Foster Parents Arrested After 3-Year-Old Girl Suffers Burns on Entire Body

Detectives say the pair admitted to the crime after being taken into custody

Two foster parents were arrested in San Bernardino County after authorities found a 3-year-old foster child girl suffering from aerosol burns to her entire body and back.

A child abuse investigation was launched after the young girl was taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center with second degree burns, according to the Fontana Police Department.

When investigators determined that the girl’s wounds were not self-inflicted, authorities arrested her foster parents for questioning. Detectives working the case said both parents admitted to the crime once they were in custody.

Robert Ismael, 35, was charged with child abuse and Emily Ismael is suspected of child endangerment. Both parents were booked in jail.

The girl and two other foster children were removed from the home and placed with Child Family Services.
