A man was arrested in the fatal stabbing of his 11-year-old step-daughter and an attack Wednesday at a Garden Grove home that left the girl's mother hospitalized.
The attacks were reported around 6:30 a.m. in the 9800 block of Blossom Avenue. The step-father, suffering from what police called self-inflicted stab wounds, is in custody.
The 36-year-old woman, who was shot and stabbed, was hospitalized. Details about her condition were not immediately available.
The 11-year-old stabbing victim died at a hospital, police said.
