Garden Grove Man Pleads Guilty to Exchanging Lewd Videos With Teen

A Garden Grove resident surrendered to authorities Monday on federal charges of exchanging lewd videos with a 13-year-old girl in Canada he allegedly attempted to have sex with on her 14th birthday.

Paul Binh Do, 29, was charged in April with a count of traveling with the intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct and a count of receipt of child pornography, according to Thom Mrozek of the U.S. Attorney's Office. Do agreed last month to plead guilty.

Do met the girl online, according to prosecutors. They exchanged videos of them :engaging in sexual conduct," according to Mrozek.

On May 2, 2014, Do traveled to Canada to "celebrate the 14th birthday" of the girl and to have sex with her, but Canadian authorities stopped him at the border, according to Mrozek.

Do allegedly possessed digital devices during his detention in Canada that contained lewd videos of the victim, according to Mrozek. Do is also accused of calling the girl and asking her to falsely tell authorities she lied to him about her age, Mrozek said.
