A stretch of Mulholland Highway in the mountains just south of Calabasas was shut down after a fallen tree caused a gas leak Sunday evening, fire officials said.

Los Angeles County fire officials said the tree fell on a high pressure gas main in the 26000 block of Mulholland Highway about 8:30 p.m.

Mulholland Highway between Las Virgenes Road and Stokes Canyon was shut down as Southern California Edison workers arrived to the scene. However, there were no evacuations.

Officials said it was unclear whether the wind had caused the tree to topple.
