An 8-year-old girl attending a Sunday little league baseball game in Buena Park fought off a man who put her in a bear hug and forced her into a park bathroom stall, police said.
The girl was walking out of a stall in the women's restroom at Bellis Park just after 1 p.m. when a man came out of a stall next to her, grabbed her from behind and dragged her into a larger stall, according to the Buena Park Police Department.
The girl pushed and screamed until the man released her. Police said he "calmly" walked out of the bathroom and the girl remained inside with her 10-year-old sister, who had accompanied her.
The girl was not hurt, Buena Park police Det. Todd Franssen said. The case was being investigated as an attempted kidnapping.
Hundreds of people were in the park at the time, said police, who released a composite sketch of the attacker in hopes it would jog someone's memory.
The man was described as Hispanic, about 25 to 35 years old, 6 feet 1 inch tall and 280 pounds. He was clean shaven with black spiked hair. He was wearing a dark blue T-shirt, gray shorts or pants and solid black shoes.
A beach cruiser bicycle with diagonal stripes and tall handlebars was also seen in the area, but police were unsure if it belonged to the attacker.
Police initially said the attack took place Monday, but later issued a correction saying it happened Sunday.
