Good Samaritan's Car Stolen Off Freeway While He Helps Free Trapped Truck Driver in Crash

No good deed goes unpunished, and a man in Riverside County learned that lesson the hard way.

When a semitruck overturned on the 15 Freeway in Corona with the driver trapped inside Tuesday morning, a good Samaritan stopped to help pull the driver to safety. But when he looked back, his car had been stolen.

"It's messed up," William Vy, whose car was stolen, says. "You're trying to help somebody out, and somebody takes advantage of the situation--steals your car."

"That's messed up," Vy, standing on the side of the freeway, added with a laugh of disbelief.

As if having his car stolen wasn't bad enough, Vy said his wallet was inside the car and that the thief attempted to make several purchases using the good Samaritan's credit card.
