Google Honors Selena With a Doodle on Her First Album's Anniversary

The adorable Doodle follows Quintanilla as a child with a love for singing who turned that love into a passionate career, much like Selena did in real life.

Google celebrated the late "Queen of Tejano music" Selena Quintanilla with a Google Doodle on Monday that included one of her hit singles, "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom" to go along with the cartoon.

The adorable Doodle depicts Quintanilla as a child with a love for singing who turned that love into a passionate career, much like Selena did in real life. The Doodle premiered just a day before the Mexican-American singer's anniversary of her first self-titled album that paved the way for her five other albums.

Quintanilla's legacy is evident as many fans continue to listen to her music two decades after her untimely death. The singer also inspired a limited-edition MAC Cosmetics collection in September 2016 after fans petitioned for it to come to life for the 20th anniversary of her death.

Not only did Selena change the music world as one of the first artists to successfully cross over from a Mexican to American platform, but she also designed many of her own stage outfits, opened two boutiques and was a philanthropist who encouraged children to stay in school.

Adoring fans and her loved ones remember her for being a humble person while the rest of the world recognize her best for her hits, "Como La Flor," "El Chico Del Apartamento 512," and "Dreaming of You."
