A gunman robbed a McDonald's in Costa Mesa Tuesday.
Police were called to investigate about 4:20 p.m. at the restaurant in the 3000 block of Bristol Street, according to Costa Mesa police Lt. Gregg Scott.
The suspect, an Hispanic man in his 20s, handed a note to a cashier demanding cash "while simultaneously brandishing a visible handgun partially tucked into his waistband," Scott said.
"Fearful of being harmed, the cashier complied with the demand note andhanded the suspect cash from her register," Scott said.
Costa Mesa police are working with investigators from neighboring jurisdictions "about a possible connection of similar robberies recently committed in Orange County," Scott said.
The suspect has a medium build and wore dark gray shorts and a black, long-sleeved sweater.
Anyone with information regarding the robbery was urged to contact the Costa Mesa Police Department Detective Bureau at (714) 754-5637.
