Harrison Ford, Lady Gaga Tabbed for SAG-AFTRA Philanthropic Honor

The pair will be honored during the foundation's third annual Patron of the Artists Awards, scheduled for Nov. 8 at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills.

Actor Harrison Ford and singer-turned-actress Lady Gaga were named Tuesday recipients of the SAG-AFTRA Foundation's Artists Inspiration Awards, honoring their humanitarian and philanthropic work.

The pair will be honored during the foundation's third annual Patron of the Artists Awards, scheduled for Nov. 8 at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills.

"We are honored to recognize two of the most iconic and beloved artists worldwide who have not only made indelible impacts on our culture and the arts, but who have chosen to use their influence to make a difference for others," SAG-AFTRA Foundation board president JoBeth Williams said in a statement.

The foundation cited Ford's work with the Conservation International, for which he serves as vice chairman of the board of directors, along with his support of charities including Riverkeeper, Young Eagles, EarthShare and Restore Hetch Hetchy. Ford is best known for his roles as Han Solo in the "Star Wars" franchise and as the namesake archeologist-adventurer of the "Indiana Jones" film series.

Gaga, who appeared in "American Horror Story: Hotel" and co-stars in the upcoming remake of "A Star is Born," is the founder of Born This Way Foundation, which works to "create a kinder and braver world by destigmatizing mental health, amplifying the impact of kindness and validating the emotions of young people around the world."

Proceeds from the Patron of the Artists Awards gala will benefit the SAG-AFTRA Foundation's programs for union artists and its literacy program "Storyline Online."
