Dr. Bruce Hensel, NBC4 Southern California’s chief health, medical and science editor, greeted thousands of walkers at the American Diabetes Association’s Step Out to Stop Diabetes Walk at Griffith Park on November 2.
Dr. Bruce participated in the opening ceremony, giving a brief overview of the significant impact of diabetes and the importance of rallying behind the cause. He rallied the walkers, including the NBC4 Corporate Team, during the Ribbon Cutting at the start of the walk.
The Step Out to Stop Diabetes Walk is the American Diabetes Association's signature fundraising event. More than 120,000 participants from 120 walk events across the country came together last year to raise over $24 million.
