Historic Lincoln Park Pool to Have Grand Reopening

The Lincoln Park Pool will have a grand reopening Monday at 11 a.m., reactivating a pool that had been closed for 10 years.

Located in a historic park, the pool was built in 1951, and the bathhouse in 1914.

After being closed for a decade, the renovations to the pool include a new 9,000 square-foot swimming pool equipped with a state-of-the art pump system, a 7,300 square-foot decorative pool deck, 4,300 square-foot bathhouse, and a 1,600 square-foot children's splash pad.

Councilmember Gil Cedillo along with Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda Solis, Department of Recreation and Parks General Manager Michael Shull and Gary Lee Moore, City Engineer will attend the grand reopening of the pool.

There will be a ribbon cutting along with a celebration at Lincoln Park Pool, located at 3501 Valley Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90031.

The celebration will be filled with artistic swimming, musical performances, Swim LA and Water Safety booths and refreshments.

Those in attendance can enjoy the pool before it officially reopens at 2 p.m.

Programming will include adult and children's swim lessons, aquatic sports, water polo, swimming, diving and artistic swimming, lap swimming, water aerobics and more.
