The Hollywood Bowl announced Tuesday that it will continue street closures of Camrose Drive and Milner Road off Highland Avenue during large show nights through the remainder of the year.
A road closure pilot was initiated in July by City Councilman David Ryu and was put into play on July 18, Aug. 5, Aug. 9 and Sept. 10.
The closures have now been extended for some concert dates through Oct. 27.
"A successful pilot like this is only possible when we work together," Ryu said. "I'm so grateful to the Hollywood Bowl, local neighborhood groups, and our other partners for making this possible and putting neighborhood needs first."
The pilot, which the City Council approved on July 5, is a collaboration between the Hollywood Bowl, the offices of Ryu and county Supervisor Sheila Kuehl, the Los Angeles Department of Transportation and local neighborhood groups. It is paid for by discretionary funds from Ryu's office, the Hollywood Bowl and the Hollywood Bowl's lease event partner, Live Nation-Hewitt Silva.
"We have been listening to feedback from our neighboring community and, in partnership with the offices of county Supervisor Sheila Kuehl and City Councilmember David Ryu, we are excited to continue the pilot closures as we seek ways to improve the Hollywood Bowl experience for both our patrons and our neighbors," said Laura Connelly, vice president of presentations for the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
During the closures, all traffic -- with the exception of emergency vehicles -- is restricted in and out of Camrose and Milner at Highland.

Residents must enter their neighborhoods from Franklin Avenue or other entry points. Closures begin about two hours before the posted show time and end around 30 minutes after the show ends.
