Authorities Tuesday renewed their call for public help to track down a trucker who ran over and killed a homeless woman, who apparently had been sleeping beneath a big rig in Santa Fe Springs, exactly one year ago.

Marisol Tellez Santana, 35, was run over around 11:30 p.m. last March 19 in the 13500 block of Rosecrans Avenue and died at the scene, said Whittier police Officer John Scoggins.

"The investigation revealed Santana, who was homeless, had presumably fallen asleep under the parked truck," Scoggins said. "The unidentified driver pulled out of the parking lot, subsequently running over Santana in the process. The truck drove away from the area and it is unknown as to whether or not the driver is aware of the circumstances."

Police released a photo of the big rig that was taken by a security camera.

Anyone with information on the case was urged to call detectives at (562) 409-1850, or the police tip line at (562) 567-9299.
