Husky Rescued From LA Canal Gets Pet-Friendly Forever Home

A husky dog rescued with hamburger meat from a canal in Los Angeles, then found in a backyard, finally has a new home -- with a few new friends.

Dakota the Husky was spotted in a Mid-City canal the day before a major rainstorm hit, worrying pet rescuer Vickie Wagner.

With the help of city workers, she lured Dakota out of the canal with a trail of hamburger meat before the canal flooded, then picked him up when he was found in a backyard.

A family in Malibu who already owns a few other huskies has adopted Dakota from Wagner's dog shelter, Eloise Rescue, Wagner said.
