LAPD Detectives Look for Leads in Koreatown Hit-and-Run That Injured 5-Year-Old

Eight detectives hit the streets of Koreatown Thursday morning, hoping that by handing out fliers with information on an unsolved hit-and-run collision that injured a woman and her grandson last week, a witness will come forward, police said.

There have been no arrests in the Jan. 7 crash that left the 48-year-old woman and a 5-year-old seriously injured on Beverly Boulevard, just east of Robinson Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Police think the vehicle that struck them, continuing eastbound on Beverly without stopping, was an older model gray Lincoln Navigator.

Alvin Fuentes, the boy who was hit, was taken to a local hospital in serious condition, with internal injuries and injuries to his jaw and eye, while Emma Cermeno was listed as stable.

Police are asking anyone with information about the driver to call detectives at 213-833-3713.
