Stabbing Victim Found Dead in La Habra Restaurant Parking Lot

A man armed with a knife directed officers to the car, where they found the woman's body

A young woman was found stabbed to death Friday in a vehicle parked behind a fast-food restaurant in La Habra after police responded to a 911 call from her boyfriend, who was arrested at the scene.

Officers went to the parking lot of the Green Burrito restaurant at 911 W. Whittier Blvd. shortly after 6 a.m., in response to the 911 call regarding a person in the parking lot who was armed with a knife, the La Habra Police Department reported.

When officers arrived at the scene, they encountered 18-year-old Jose Bojorquez of La Habra holding a knife and determined that he had made the 911 call, police said. His clothes were "covered in blood, and he appeared to have a wound to his neck,'' according to police.

Bojorquez was ordered multiple times to drop the knife, but did not, prompting officers to subdue him with a Taser and sponge-round projectiles, police said.

Before he was taken away in an ambulance, Bojorquez told police to check a Toyota in the parking lot, where they found 19-year-old Salina Marie Araiza of La Habra dead of multiple stab wounds, police said. The victim lived nearby.

The suspect has no criminal history, and there were no restraining orders in place at the time of the stabbing, according to police.

Bojorquez was hospitalized under police guard and was expected to be booked on suspicion of murder, police said.
