Fatal Shooting on Monday is La Puente's Third in the Past Four Days

A man was shot and killed Monday afternoon in La Puente, the third fatal shooting in the city in four days.

The victim was shot about 2:55 p.m. in the 15400 block of Temple Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies responded to a call about a person not breathing and upon arrival found the victim suffering from a single gunshot wound to his body. He died at the scene, the sheriff's department reported.

No suspect information was immediately available.

Detectives from the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau were dispatched to investigate the killing.

On Sunday about 6:30 p.m. three men were wounded, one fatally, in a shooting in the 400 block of Tonopah Avenue and on Friday night a 31-year-old man was shot and killed and a 22-year-old man was wounded in the 100 block of North Winton Avenue.

It was not immediately clear if any of the shootings were related.
