Lyft Driver Shot in the Head in Eagle Rock Area

On Sunday, August 19, a Lyft driver was shot in the head by another ride-share driver.

Eric Campos, a 24-year-old father of two children, had just picked up two passengers at around 4:30 a.m. in Glassell Park on Eagle Rock Blvd. when an unknown male driver in a dark blue Prius with an Uber sticker, shot him.

The two passengers riding with Campos were sitting in the back of the car when the shooting happened, making the driver lose control and crash into a fire hydrant.

Campos was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, but is currently recovering.

Campos' wife Nancy Garcia is worried about their family being financially vulnerable as her husband is the sole breadwinner of the household.

It is still unknown what caused the shooting, but police believe it was a road rage situation.

Los Angeles Police Department is currently conducting an investigation.
