A wind-fueled brush fire that grew to 73 acres in Lake Elsinore Saturday has been fully contained, firefighters said.
The hillside fire was reported at 2:26 p.m. next to the southbound side of Interstate 15 near Main Street, where flames reached a height of 7 feet, Tawny Cabral of the Riverside County Fire Department said.
The fire was burning in a grassy field and spreading at a moderate speed, according to Cabral.
No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported.
By 10 p.m., crews reported 100 percent containment was reached by clearing a ring of vegetation around the fire.
A California Highway Patrol incident report indicated that the blaze may have been sparked by utility wires.
