Pickup Truck Driver Accused of Dragging, Running Over and Killing Puppy

When officers arrived, they found a 3-month-old dead puppy, police say

A Southern California man was arrested Monday after he allegedly dragged a puppy from his pickup truck and ran over it to kill it, police said.

Officers responded to an animal cruelty call Sept. 19 in the 2900 block of Rolando Road in Lake Elsinore, according to the Lake Elsinore Police Department.

Callers told police a dark-colored Nissan pickup truck had dragged a dog to a residence and then ran over the dog to kill it, police said.

When officers arrived to the home, they found a 3-month-old dead puppy.

Police on Monday found the Nissan truck and identified the suspected driver as Victor Perez-Guzman, a 35-year-old Lake Elsinore resident.

He was booked on suspicion of cruelty to an animal, police said.

This investigation is continuing and police asked anyone with information to contact Deputy Mix at 951-245-3300 or by email at LakeElsinoreStation@RiversideSheriff.org.
