With 4.3 million Southland residents expected to travel 50 miles or more this Thanksgiving, Los Angeles International Airport is offering a new shuttle service to and from Santa Monica and Century City for the holidays beginning Sunday.
The LAX Holiday Shuttle will provide hourly service to and from Santa Monica and Century City during the busy holiday period, running from 5 a.m. to midnight every day through Monday, Dec. 2, except for Thanksgiving Day, according to LAX officials.
The two locations for pickup and drop-off for the LAX Holiday Shuttle are:
- 1925 Arizona Ave., Santa Monica;
- 2030 Century Park West, Century City.
For those traveling from LAX, the shuttle will pick up passengers at the "Pink" stops on the inner lanes on Lower/Arrivals Level. Those traveling to LAX will find a staff person available at the parking lot location from which the shuttle leaves. That staff person will provide information, answer questions and take payments.
The service costs $10 each way and will be served by 10- and 20-passenger vans.
More than 55 million Americans -- including 7 million Californians, 4.3 million of them from the Southland -- plan to travel 50 miles or more away from home this Thanksgiving, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California.
