    Super Bowl total viewership dropped 4.7 percent from last year, according to figures including out-of-home-viewing released on Friday by Nielsen.

    CBS' coverage of the Los Angeles Rams' 13-3 loss to the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LIII Sunday averaged 112.7 million people across all platforms when out-of-home-viewing is included.

    The official over-the-air viewership of 98.1 million was the lowest since 2008. A record 2.6 million viewers watched on various digital and mobile properties. Viewership in locations such as other people's homes, bars, restaurants and hotels was 12 million.

    Total viewership for NBC's coverage of the Philadelphia Eagles' 41-33 victory over the Patriots in Super Bowl LII was 118.2 million.

    Super Bowl LIII was the lowest-scoring Super Bowl.
