Man in Custody After Stabbing, Shooting in South LA

    One person was injured in a stabbing and another was injured in a shooting in South Los Angeles on Monday, April 14, 2014.

    A man was taken into custody Monday morning after he allegedly stabbed a man and then shot a female shorlty after, officials said.

    Officers responded around 6:50 a.m. to a shooting in the 5700 block of 9th Avenue.

    Initial reports indicated that a shooting victim was taken to a hospital in unknown condition, but later authorities confirmed that there were two crimes scenes and it was a separate stabbing victim that had been transported.

    Investigators learned that a man was stabbed during an argument with another man. He was taken to a hospital in unknown condition.

    The man then fled to 9th Avenue and was involved in an argument with a female. The man allegedly pulled out a handgun and shot the female. Her condition was unknown.

    The suspect was taken into custody, according to police, but it was unclear how he was apprehended. Police said the incidents may have stemmed from a domestic dispute.
