One person died early Wednesday morning after a vehicle carrying at least two people veered off an offramp on the 710 freeway, authorities said.
The crash was reported just after 1 a.m. on the Southbound 710 Freeway at the 6th Street offramp in Long Beach. The vehicle flew off of the offramp and landed on its roof, according to the Long Beach Fire Department.
One person was stuck inside of the crashed vehicle and was transported to a hospital in critical condition, according to the Long Beach Fire Department. The crash victim was later pronounced dead.
Another occupant in the vehicle attempted to flee the crash, but was located not far from the scene of the crash, according to the Long Beach Fire Department.
All southbound lanes on the 710 Freeway were closed for one hour and reopened as of 2:30 a.m.
