A 14-year-old girl from Southern California died after being thrown off an inner tube and striking a tree while being towed by a boat driven by a relative on a river shoreline in Fresno County, officials said.
Cheinn Berry, of Torrance, died Saturday afternoon after riding on the Kings River in Reedley near the Lindy's Landing & Campground, the Fresno County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.
The accident happened when the driver of the boat made a turn, officials said. The driver was not facing charges as of Monday, according to the Fresno Bee.
