2 Dead in Hemet Mobile Home Fire

The fire started as a car fire but then spread to the mobile home.

Two people are dead after a mobile home fire broke out in Hemet.

Hemet Fire Chief Scott Brown says the incident was reported Saturday night at Sierra Dawn Estates as a car fire in a carport, but by the time firefighters arrived it had spread to the mobile home.

Brown tells The Press-Enterprise firefighters rescued one person who died at a hospital and the second victim was found during a later search.

Earlier this month, an 85-year-old resident of the same mobile home park died in a fire believed to have accidentally started near a kitchen stove.
