Two people were killed, including a teenage boy, in a shooting into a car in Rialto Monday.
Twenty-two-year-old Joshua Brakenridge was Lynn Jones' oldest child, a carter high school graduate who was shot and killed just a mile from his family home in Rialto.
"Joshua is loved and appreciated and I just don't know how to feel right now," Jones says.
She adds, "You just don't realize how much a person meant to you, how much they were there. Now, you can't call them at all."
Investigators says Brakenridge was traveling on Baseline Road around 5 p.m. on Monday when another car pulled up next to his vehicle.
"Someone inside (the car) shot at the victim's vehicle, striking both occupants," Lt. Paul Stella of the Rialto Police Department said.
Rupert Macias, a witness, estimated five or six gunshots.

The 22-year-old and his close friend, 17-year-old Jaylen McClain, didn't survive.
"Joshua was a big brother to (Jaylen); they used to go to the skate park together," Jones says about her son and his friend.
A nearby business captured grainy surveillance video of the incident, showing a white car next to Brakenridge's grey Honda. After the shooting, the victim's car quickly slows down.
Investigators are closely examining the surveillance video for clues.
"This appears that there is some relationship between the suspect and the victims what that relationship is unknown," Stella says.
Police say a motive for the deadly shooting is also unknown.
Jones says her son was a good young man, and she doesn't understand why anyone would take his life.
"I couldn't imagine why," Jones says. "He's not a gang banger. He doesn't hurt nobody."
Investigators are asking witnesses to come forward. If anyone has any information about the shooting, they are urged to call Rialto police.
