A festival including music, food and prizes was held from 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m. at Whittier Boulevard and Arizona Avenue.

Cal State Los Angeles has been designated as the education grand marshal. Other parade participants include actors Danny Trejo and Jovan Armand, comedian Felipe Esparza, recording artist Kap G, marching bands, classic car clubs, equestrian units and folklorico groups.

NBC4's Alysha Del Valle and NBCLA puppy Zuma were also in the parade.

The parade was one of the largest and longest running Christmas parades that focused on the Latino community until being suspended in 2009. It was revived in 2016. More than 90,000 people lined Whittier Boulevard to watch last year's parade, organizers said.
