Magnitude-3.4 Quake Hits Mojave Desert

A recent hotbed of earthquakes had another temblor on Monday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A magnitude-3.4 quake struck at 1:48 p.m. about 16 miles west by northwest from Ludlow.

The USGS said the epicenter was located at 34 degrees, 48 minutes north latitude and 116 degrees, 25 minutes west longitude (map).

The quake, which had a depth of 2.3 miles, was one of many to strike the area within the last week.
