3.6 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Near Palm Springs

A 3.6-magnitude earthquake hit Riverside County Thursday morning.

The small shaker struck the desert at 8:53 a.m. about 7 miles east of Desert Hot Springs and 10 miles northeast of Palm Springs, according to the USGS. No damage was reported as of 1:45 p.m.

The quake was 10 miles deep, under a sparsely populated area.
