4/20 Dinner

In a secret location, somewhere in Downtown Los Angeles, a group of people gathered to enjoy a dinner complete with a special ingredient, pot. They called it the 4/20 Weed & Chinese Herb Dinner.

It wasn't your typical restaurant, and it definitely wasn't your typical menu.

100 people packed into an industrial loft in Downtown LA Friday night and paid $100 each for a five course meal, featuring marijuana as a key ingredient.

Nguyen Tran is the mastermind behind the pop up kitchen, billed as a 4/20 Weed & Chinese Herb Dinner.

"When you do something like this, there has to be something that has some kind of mystique, and something that brings people together," according to Tran.

Chef Laurent Quenioux and Chef Thi Tran created the menu, which included Monk Fish with Cannabis Pesto.

Gene and Mimi Burten came because they're fans of Chef Laurent.

"We're not here to get high. We're here to enjoy great cuisine," according to Mimi Burten

"The amount of marijuana, or cannabis, weed whatever you want to call it, is 3 ounces for 100 people," according to Tran.

The demand was so high for this dinner, there were 100 people on the waiting list, which begs the question, will he do another marijuana dinner?"

Tran says no, because it's already been done, and he doesn't want to be typecast.
