45 Rose Parade Revelers Arrested

Pasadena police cuff parade partiers

Pasadena police arrested 45 people along the Rose Parade route overnight and early Saturday, said a police spokeswoman.

The arrests were made during a time of span of 5 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Saturday, said Janet Pope Givens of the Pasadena Police Department.

"There may have been more that came in afterwards," said Givens.

Almost all of the arrests were for public intoxication, added Givens.

Still, some of the arrests included three for driving without a driver's license, interfering with a peace officer, misdemeanor assault and urinating in public.

"Fun times on the boulevard, huh?" said Givens. "This many arrests is pretty low considering the number and the extent of people camped out in a five-mile stretch" along the parade route.

Pasadena police said they were not keeping a running tally of whether the drunken revelers were Wisconsin Badgers or Purple Horned Frogs from Texas Christian University.
