Body on Road Shuts Down Lanes on Southbound 605 Freeway

The lanes would be closed until further notice.

Three lanes were shut down on the southbound 605 Freeway after a man was struck in the road Tuesday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The fatal crash occurred around 10:05 p.m. just south of Carson Street in the Long Beach, according to the CHP.

At least one car struck the 23-year-old man in the road.

The man was reportedly running across lanes on the freeway before he was struck, according to the CHP.

The three lanes just north of Wardlow Road were closed for investigation. The lanes were reopened around midnight, according to the CHP.

The collision was still under investigation.
